Pakistan: Higher Education Support System Project

WASHINGTON, September 10, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

IDA Credit: US$100 million

Terms: Maturity = 35 years; Grace Period = 10 years

Project ID: P102607

 

Project Description: The Higher Education Support System Project (HESP) aims to support government of Pakistan initiatives to increase participation, enhance quality and relevance, and strengthen the efficiency and sustainability of Higher Education Institutions. HESP will contribute to the rehabilitation of the higher education sector of Pakistan by helping sustain momentum of the core program and key accompanying reforms being undertaken by the Higher Education Commission through the current period of fiscal stress.
